What a great day for a race. We hade beautiful weather with ideal
conditions for November. With 150 runners pre-registered I was hoping
to hit the 200 mark with the addition of race day registrations. We
surpassed that and then some with a grand total of 253 participants in
the 5k and the kids 1/2 mile. I couldn't have been more pleased and it
was for a tremendous cause. This event was held to support Ashley
Himes who is suffering from a rare form of brain cancer. I am
overwhelmed at the support the North Cedar communtiy has shown for her
and not only our small communities but the support that came from the
surrounding area as well.

I would like to thank all the volunteers and the sponsors of this
event. It would not have gotten done without you.

Thanks to Mary Jo Hainstock and Kathy Bails for heading up
registration and the results tables and to all the students who
volunteered at these tables. I would like to thank Vicky Hamdorf for
asking me to put this event on, I enjoyed every minute of it and I was
glad to do it as I have known Ashley and her family for quite a while.
